Our team are highly experienced in providing a range of massage techniques. Whether you require a relaxing massage simply for stress-relief or a sports massage for the treatment of muscular injuries, chronic pain and body tension, we will have the specific treatment your body requires.
We offer the following massage techniques:
The most popular form of massage, Swedish massage will provide you with complete relaxation. It’s a great introduction to massage for those who have never had one before. Utilising 5 different types of long, gliding strokes, kneads and circular motions, the pressure applied with Swedish massage can be as light or as firm as you like. One of our Swedish massages will be perfect for easing shallow tension in your back and shoulders, unknotting your whole body and making you feel as light as a feather.
If you’re stressed or have chronic pain and tension, one of our therapeutic massages will help to alleviate the pain, improve your physical condition and help you to relax. We are able to offer these on a specific part of the body such as the abdomen or the back, or as a full body massage.
After a tough workout, sometimes a foam roller isn’t going to cut it. After a game, sometimes the muscle pain is way more intense than even any stretching session can solve. Sometimes, the stresses of daily living and working causes unexplained pains. It is at these times when a sports massage is needed. By manipulating the body’s soft tissue and utilising a range of release techniques and stretches, one of our sports masseuses will help improve and correct imbalances caused by repetitive movements. Whether you have a specific sports-related injury or your aches are caused by everyday life, one of our sports massages will be the therapy your muscles need.
Golf Ball Massage
A deep massage with the added benefit of deep kneading techniques using a golf ball and the SPABALL® Massager in specific areas. Smooth, relaxing, and Therapeutic. The size, hardness, and shape of a golf ball make it the perfect instrument to reach deep sore spots in your muscles. This treatment is used to target lower back, hips, shoulders and balls of the feet. It is deep yet relaxing and effective in improving mobility.
Trigger Point Massage
This ancient form of massage utilises flat, heated stones which are placed on key spots across your body and combined with the use of gentle oils to soothe both your body and your mind. One of our hot stone massages will provide an ideal way to relax and unwind.
Lomi Lomi Massage
We are specialists in lomi lomi massage, a form of traditional Hawaiian massage which utilises a variety of massage techniques combined with the use of nut oils. Using broad, flowing strokes performed by the therapist using their fingers, thumbs, palms, arms and elbows, a lomi lomi massage is gentle but will be felt deeply in your muscles. The use of nut oils including macadamia, palm and coconut oils will moisturise and nourish your skin whilst keeping the strokes smooth. One of our lomi lomi massages will release the tension in your body, rejuvenate you, whilst providing increased peace, harmony and wellbeing.
Lymphatic Drainage (Manual/Mechanical)
Manual Lymphatic Drainage (MLD) is a gentle therapeutic massage treatment which utilises light pressure and long rhythmic strokes. This form of massage is designed to increase the flow of lymph and remove waste and toxins from your body. Mechanical lymphatic drainage or also known as pressotherapy is an effective, modern and gentle therapy of the lymphatic system. At the same time, it is popular for its relaxing and cosmetic effects. It helps after injury, operation or overload and provides detoxification, improved metabolism, increased physical condition and immunity.
A lymphatic drainage massage is useful if you suffer with lymphedema, as this condition can cause lymph fluid to build up in a specific area of your body, such as your arms or legs, where it causes swelling. Lymphatic drainage is not just for sufferers of this condition though. It is beneficial for the general health of everyone, as improving the flow and drainage of lymph keeps the immune system working properly.
Myofascial Release is used for the effective treatment and rehabilitation of pain, aches and tension which arise from the myofascial tissues – the thin, strong and fibrous connective tissue which extends throughout your body to provide support and protection to your muscles and bones. In one of our myofascial release treatments, using light pressure we will locate the myofascial tissue areas which feel stiff and fixed rather than elastic and movable. We will then apply the appropriate amount of sustained pressure to eliminate your pain and restore motion to your body.
Cupping involves placing cups on your skin to create suction in order to stimulate blood flow and loosen muscles. We utilise our cupping therapies to treat conditions you may be suffering with including back pain, neck pain and muscle pain and stiffness.
Deep Tissue Massage
If you find that you’re suffering from aches and strains caused by a specific sports injury, the more intense pressure applied when receiving a deep tissue massage will be ideal. Differing from a sports massage, a deep tissue massage is applied to a specific problematic area of the body. Consisting of sustained pressure using slow, deep strokes, a deep tissue massage will target the inner layers of the muscles and connective tissues. It is used to break up scar tissue formed after sustaining an injury and to release any muscle tension. You may find that a deep tissue massage is painful to receive, however, this short-term discomfort is required to alleviate the long-term pain of your injury.
